Last week, work begun on site for the brand new Newmains & St Brigid’s Community Hub in North Lanarkshire, and our Associate QS Lauren Meldrum was invited along to see ground being broken at the council-organised ceremony.
“It was a great pleasure to attend this special event and witness at first-hand, such a significant project milestone. With Doig+Smith appointed by hub South West to carry out multiple roles on this project, we are deeply invested in its success and look forward to seeing the progress in the months ahead.”
The multi-million-pound new-build development will be home to two separate Primary Schools – Newmains and St Brigid’s – as well a Family Learning Centre offering early years education and childcare for children aged between 0-5 years.
Features of the new development include an all-weather 9-a-side sports pitch, multiple playgrounds incorporating opportunities for outdoor learning, parking facilities and drop-off zones for cars and school buses. Furthermore, as this project is part of a site redevelopment programme, site remediation work will also be included, alongside the formation of new road junctions.
Doig+Smith is proud to provide its services in Project Management, Quantity Surveying and Principal Designer on this shared campus facility. For more detail, read our project profile.
