Contract Close at Castlebrae High School

20th Dec 2019

The new-build project for Castlebrae High School took a major leap forward last week, as contract close was achieved.

This important milestone means the main construction works can begin at the start of the new year, now that all parties have agreed upon the documentation required for progress.

The new secondary school forms part of a wider masterplan, intended to provide much needed regeneration to the Craigmillar area of Edinburgh. The school will be constructed adjacent to the library and community hub and will be central to forming the centre of the community.

Doig+Smith is undertaking the Cost Advisor Role for this project. This included early engagement to collaboratively develop a Feasibility Report for the project before progressing through Hub Stages 1 and 2. As construction of the project progresses we will be providing post contract cost advice.

We look forward to seeing how the school develops in the coming months.
