Business Continuity Update: COVID-19

18th Mar 2020

18.03.2019

In the midst of the evolving COVID-19 Pandemic, we consider it prudent to outline the measures we are taking to ensure business continuity in these uncertain times.

Doig+Smith has a proud reputation for outstanding service, and we want to assure you we are doing our utmost to maintain this exemplary level of support, whilst ensuring that our colleagues, clients and partners are not put at any risk.

ACTING IMMEDIATELY ON GOVERNMENT ADVICE

Our management team is continually monitoring the advice of the UK and Scottish governments and acting upon this guidance in a timely manner, revising our internal policies on a frequent basis.

ALTERNATIVE COMMUNICATIONS

We have introduced new management protocols to facilitate smooth communication between our teams and across our offices. Our staff are now set up to work remotely and can do so without any impact on the delivery of service to you our clients and partners. This gives us confidence that we can achieve any time-critical targets as expected.

All Doig+Smith staff have been instructed to avoid attending meetings in-person and instead will substitute with virtual alternatives.

We have provided our staff with enhanced training in various methods of video and tele-conferencing to accommodate differing client needs.

RESTRICTED SITE VISITS

As it stands, our staff will still carry out any site visits deemed to be ‘essential’ and will take appropriate precautions to protect their health, safety and well-being.

ROBUST IT SUPPORT

We have a long-standing support contract in place with an IT Service Provider who can support and troubleshoot any technical issues our colleagues experience whilst working from home. Plans are also in place for data backups and ensuring IT system infrastructure reliability.

STRUCTURED APPROACH

Since Doig+Smith is certified to ISO 22301 Business Continuity, you can be assured the response to this crisis is well thought-out and guided by the principles of this accredited management system for dealing with unplanned eventualities.

Doig+Smith remains available to provide help and advice to our clients for the duration of this crisis and beyond. Please contact us if you have any worries about the effect of COVID-19 on your project.
