In January 2020 our Associate Director, Dean Carrick, trained as a STEM Ambassador and looked forward to engaging with students in this role but then COVID hit and he thought that there would be little opportunity…
But it turns out learning is one of few things in life a lockdown can’t get in the way of!
Throughout the pandemic, Dean has been involved in the delivery of online STEM (Science Technology Engineering Mathematics) sessions via TEAMS and video recorded presentations and was labelled a ‘Lockdown Legend’ by the STEM Ambassadors in Scotland Hub.
We commend Dean for his outstanding commitment to helping and developing others in this project and many many others! We also applaud the students across the country who have embraced the virtual learning environment and studied hard in these most unusual times.
