Project Description
Paisley Town Hall is a grade A listed building and refurbishment to transform this building in to one of Scotland’s landmark entertainment venues is underway.
The work to the Town Hall is part of Renfrewshire Council’s larger regeneration programme that aims to increase footfall back to the high street.
Advance works, including strip out and demolition works, were undertaken to allow the main works to commence.
The main works are extensive and comprise of:
- Structural repairs and alterations to suit revised configuration while providing better physical access
- Stone repairs
- Drainage repairs
- Forming an external bar terrace extension.
- Full mechanical, electrical and plumbing services.
- Specialist lighting, audio/visual requirements and the like to the stage, the main hall and the like to the stage, the main hall and the various multi-function rooms.
- Sympathetic internal alterations and fit-out to form Network Bar, Function Suite for weddings etc, Loggia with balcony, Dance Studio, Screen Room to view films together with associated ancillary areas including kitchens, toilets, changing rooms, circulation and storage.
Our Role / Scope
Our role on the project is to provide Quantity Surveying and Principal Designer services from inception through to completion. This all- encompassing role ensures that all issues such as developing the project brief, cost management, value engineering and risk management can be fulfilled to the Client’s needs.

- As we have been employed to cover all stages of the works we can closely monitor the value of the project from the initial cost, through tendering of the various work packages and then through valuations and cost reports when the works are progressing on site. This will ensure that the client is aware of the estimated final value at all times and can be advised of the financial implications of any decisions they need to make.
- Due to the complexity of the project, meetings are held on a weekly basis which we always have attendance at.
- Meetings are generally held within the Town Hall so if any issues arise the team can go straight to the source to work out a solution.
